"The science-backed approach of the Thermalist Method® Workshop provides the why and the how of sauna and cold exposure, giving me the confidence to share and guide others through these transformative approaches to mental and physical wellbeing that are such an important part of my own life"

About Me

Sauna and cold water swimming have always been part of my life, as, being half-Finnish, I grew up spending a lot of my time in Finland - the home of sauna.   I have always intrinsically appreciated the wellbeing benefits provided by these practices, without necessarily having the knowledge to explain them.

With a background in academic scientific research, and over 20 years experience in the healthcare sector, I am data driven and always keen to understand the why and the how behind wellness claims made for lifestyle approaches.

The cultural connection I have with contrast therapy, combined with my background in research and the healthcare sector, meant that I was excited to discover Dr Soeberg’s science-backed approach to understanding the why and the how of sauna and cold water use to safely optimise individual outcomes and increase physical and mental resilience.

Now as a Certified Thermalist® Instructor, I am pleased to be able to share the Thermalist Method® Workshop with my clients. Given my scientific background and data-driven approach, I value the scientific principles applied to these traditional practices.

I focus on helping participants understand not just what to do, but why they're doing it - explaining the physiological mechanisms behind the practices as we experience the cold and the heat.

My certification as a Thermalist® instructor complements my work as a sports massage therapist, with both roles focusing on helping people optimise their wellbeing and performance through evidence-based approaches.

I made the decision to move to the French Alps to pursue a more balanced lifestyle with greater focus on health, wellbeing, and time spent in nature.  When I am not working, I spend as much time as I can being active outdoors - swimming, cycling, skiing, or hiking with my dog, activities that are a key part of my approach to wellness and balance.

Join me for a Thermalist Method® Workshop, a powerful and science-backed experience combining cold and heat exposure with guided breathwork and mindfulness — designed to support your mental clarity, stress relief, immune system, and physical recovery.

This isn’t just another wellness trend. It’s a method rooted in over a decade of scientific research by Dr. Susanna Søberg, PhD in metabolism and pioneer of the Søberg Principle — now practiced by thousands worldwide.
